Some third-party cookie consent tools don’t distinguish between applying the cookie banner to:
an entire domain (and all its URLs), or
a single, or a subset of, URL(s) within that domain.
If you don’t use a Branded Domain, your flipbooks are hosted on the shared domain viewer.ipaper.io, along with hundreds of others.
If third-party cookie integrations are implemented on that shared domain, it creates a risk of third-part cookie banner ‘cross-contamination’:
other companies’ banners could appear on your flipbooks, or
your banner could appear on theirs.
To avoid this, you need a unique Branded Domain.
Branded Domain is a requirement for third-party cookie integration
By using a Branded Domain, you can direct the third-party consent management integration to that unique domain without any risk of ‘cross-contamination’.
💡Commerce Light and Commerce Plus licenses have 1 Branded Domain included. The Enterprise + license has 5 Branded Domains included.
If you want a third-party consent banner, but don’t have an available Branded Domain, you can purchase more. To do so, contact our support team through the chat in the iPaper admin.
What happens if you don't get a Branded Domain?
Your third-party consent banner will not show. Instead, your flipbook(s) will show iPaper's Basic Cookie consent banner (default decline with default setting).
