When visitors to your Flipbook are inspired by, and engage with your content, they’ll naturally want to share it with others. This comes with the added benefit of increasing your Flipbook’s reach with others who might otherwise not have known about it!
Sharing your Flipbook can happen in many ways, depending on the user’s device, and whether you’re using iPaper’s default sharing functionality, or have developed something custom.
📖 This guide explains:
Flipbook sharing on desktop vs. mobile devices
By default, most visitors browsing your Flipbook from a desktop browser will share it by simply copying your Flipbook’s web address, and pasting it in, for example, an email, messenger, social media, etc.
When sharing via a mobile device, the default sharing option in iPaper will trigger the native sharing options of the device. This means that visitors will be presented with sharing options that are customized to their browsing preferences.
It is also possible to integrate custom-built sharing solutions via the iPaper JS API, which opens to a wide possibility of custom sharing options that are relevant to you, and your visitors.
Enabling Flipbook sharing
Whether you choose to use iPaper’s default sharing options, or build your own custom solution, you will need to enable Flipbook sharing in iPaper first. Doing so is easy:
In the Flipbook view in iPaper, right-click on the Flipbook for which you want to enable sharing.
Select Edit settings.
Select the General tab.
From the vertical menu on the left, select Interface.
Check the Enable sharing toggle in the Interface settings so that it should a green check mark.
Make sure to save your changes.
With sharing enabled, visitors sharing via their mobile devices will have access to their personalized, device-specific sharing functions, making it incredibly easy and intuitive to share your Flipbook to any contact or app you have on your device.
You can see how your visitors will experience native sharing on iOS and Android in the video below:
With Flipbook sharing enabled, visitors from desktop browsers will have the Flipbook link automatically copied to their clipboard, when they click on the share icon.
Considerations when serving your Flipbook over HTTP
If you use a Branded domain, you have the option to force delivery of your Flipbook via HTTPS. In this case, your Flipbook can utilize the Flipbook API, which allows for your Flipbook’s URL to be automatically copied to clipboard, when a visitor clicks on the share icon.
The Clipboard API functionality is not available, however, if you serve your Flipbook via HTTP. In this case, please reach out to us via the messenger in the corner, and we can advise you the best course of action. 🙂

Sharing an iFrame-embedded Flipbook
For many, their iPaper Flipbook is as much a direct extension of their digital store as it is their physical. Embedding your Flipbook on your website is a great way to drive traffic to it, and an easy way to share.
With an embedded Flipbook, iPaper's default sharing functions are turned off by default. We do this by detecting whether your Flipbook is embedded on an external page. This also means that in order to offer Flipbook-specific sharing functions on your embedded Flipbook, you'll need to develop these as a custom-built solution, as mentioned above.
