AI/GEO discoverability for Flipbooks

AI search is a hot topic. But there are AI discoverability challenges for a format like Flipbooks.

Current status

At this time, iPaper doesn’t offer specific settings to optimize Flipbooks for AI/GEO discoverability.

We’re currently investigating the feasibility of making specific AI/GEO optimization features for Flipbooks.

To help us prioritise, it would be helpful if you could share information about your specific use-case and expectations for AI/GEO discoverability of Flipbooks.

AI/GEO challenges of the Flipbook format

LLMs are generally very good at discovering and understanding information that's available as structured or regular web content.

However, Flipbook content is not available as structured or regular web content.

Flipbooks are rendered from pages or images, and much of the text is not exposed in the same way as it would be on a traditional webpage.

What then?

But a lot of the information, that you may want surfaced in LLM answers, may be readily available for LLMs elsewhere.

For example, if your product information is already available on your website or through a product feed, an LLM may be able to find and use that information without needing to understand the content of the Flipbook.

This means your Flipbook can still play an important role in the customer journey, even if the underlying product information is more discoverable to AI elsewhere.

Robots.txt can’t be configured

iPaper includes a robots.txt file to manage how search engines interact with Flipbooks.

However, this file is not customizable at the account or Flipbook level. In effect, there is a robots.txt file, but it can't be modified.
