⚠️ This is a legacy feature for Display that will be sunset on June 1st, 2025. It is only available to customers already using this feature.
Connecting your feed with Display not only allows you to add products, but to make sure they stay up to date with pricing, image and more!
📖 This guide explains:
What kind of feeds are supported?
It's quite simple: Display requires a Google Merchant Feed, and the product data attributes must conform to Google standards.
Required fields in your data feed
In order to import your products, the feed must contain the following:
- Unique product ID (id)
- Product name (title)
- Direct link to product page (link)
- Direct link to product image including https:// (image_link)
- Price (price)
Additional fields in your data feed
In addition to the required fields, we also support these properties:
- Sale price (sale_price)
- When the Sale price is in effect (sale_price_effective_date)
- Additional product images (additional_image_link)
Adding your feed
Connecting your Feed with iPaper is very simple.
In the left-hand menu, select Display. This will open up several sub-options.
Select Feeds.
From here you can click to Add feed. When adding a new feed, you will be prompted with a few fields to fill.
Feed name: The name here is for your reference. Consider a naming convention that is logical to you and allows you to easily differentiate between feeds.
Feed URL: Here you'll paste the URL to your feed.
Automatic processing interval: When connecting a feed, we download a version of it. So we continuously download it either Nightly or Hourly to make sure we have the most up to date version.
Feed type: Specify whether your feed is in XML or CSV format. If the latter, remember to include the delimiter you use in your set-up.
Advanced feed settingsEncoding: You can select what type of encoding your feed uses from this drop-down menu.
Price format: In order to make sure we display prices correctly in your Displays, select the correct decimal delimieter.
That's it! Your feed is connected and ready to use with Display. 👍
Considerations when using a feed
We download the feed to use for quick look-up for products. This however means that if you have added products since it was last downloaded, they will not appear in our copy of the feed.
You can force an update of your feed, by using the Process feed button:
💡 The feed that is set as default will be used when creating a new Display. You can manually change that from the Display Editor.
That's it, now it's time to populate your Display with products directly from your feed, but before you do that, let's set up a theme — so head on over to that!
