FAQ: What will happen to my data when we move to New Statistics

Learn about how your Flipbook data will change with the move to New Statistics, and what will happen with your historical Flipbook data.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Until early January 2025, you can freely switch between the New and Legacy Statistics to get familiar with the changes. After January, all iPaper accounts and Flipbooks will automatically transition to the new Statistics.

What will happen to my historical data after January 2025?

Since the launch of New Statistics, we have been collecting Flipbook data using both our Legacy, and New data modelling, simultaneously. This means that any Flipbook data from October 1, 2024 and onwards is modelled using the New Statistics data model.

What about data older than October 1, 2024?

Historical Flipbook data that is older than October 1, 2024, will still be available to you. However, as this data was modelled using our Legacy Statistics data model, this data will simply be presented in the New Statistics without any adjustment to the new data model. This means that while the data will be available for you to access, it should be considered less accurate.

Will my Legacy Statistics data be deleted after the transition to New Statistics?

No historical Flipbook data will be deleted during the transition to New Statistics. However, it won't be adjusted to match the current New Statistics data model. You don't need to back up your data: it will remain accessible in the Statistics interface.

Can I view data from before October 1st, 2024 and after in the same view?

No. It is not possible to view all data from a period that starts before October 1st, 2024 and ends after October 1st, 2024 🥺

As the data is collected and calculated in two different ways, it is not possible to present it in an aggregated view.

How will I then view data for a period that stretches through the two calculations?

This will require two views.

  • Select and view data for the period before October 1st, 2024.

  • Select and view data for the period on and after October 1st, 2024.

You can then combine the two as needed.

⚠️ Be aware that the two datasets are collected and calculated in different ways, and may cause weird results when combined.

We are aware of how this may affect some reporting workflows, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience 🥲

As we progress into 2025 and past, the annoyance should taper off.
