Organizing and naming your Flipbooks

Naming matters. Make the right choices and increase your SEO value.

Updated this week

📖 This article explains:

The benefits of a naming structure in your iPaper account

You can name the Flipbooks and folders in your iPaper account anything you want, but we always recommend that you consider using a naming structure.

  • A logical naming structure makes it easier for you to navigate your Flipbooks, and locate specific ones quickly.

  • The name of your Flipbook is reflected in its URL, meaning you should name it so it also gives meaning to your Flipbook visitors.

  • As they are crawled by search engines, the name you give your Flipbook can have an impact on its SEO value.

How your naming structure is reflected in the Flipbook URL

By default, all Flipbooks start with the following URL: viewer.ipaper.io/

⚠️ Some legacy customers may be using ipaper.ipapercms.dk/ instead of our new, default URL above. We recommend that you contact us if you wish to discuss changing to viewer.ipaper.io

Any folder or Flipbook you create will be reflected in the URL in the following way:

  • viewer.ipaper.io/ ACCOUNTNAME / FOLDERNAME / FLIPBOOKNAME

Or, like this example below:

Best practices for naming your Flipbooks and folders

💡 Avoid repetition in folder and Flipbook name. That will make your catalog URL longer and potentially less tidy.

Ad-blockers

Please also be aware that certain words in a URL can trigger Ad-blocking software (installed in the viewer's browser) which can alter the iPaper experience for your visitors.

❌ Example words include:

  • Ad

  • Ads

  • Banner

  • Annonse

  • Reklame
