Gain further insights into your Flipbook visitors by integrating Google Analytics with iPaper.

If you use Google Analytics to track user behavior on your website, you might also want to gain similar insights into your iPaper Flipbooks.

As mentioned above, this guide assumes you have a Google Analytics account and that you have at least heard of properties, views and tracking IDs.

iPaper now supports both the old Universal Analytics and new GA4 properties.

If you set up Google Analytics for your website before October 14, 2020, you probably have a Universal Analytics property (UA-000000-2). If so, please read on.

But if you have set up a brand new Google Analytics account after October 14, 2020, you probably created a GA4 account.

So, if you have a brand-new GA4 Measurement ID G-XXXXXXX, then please click here:

Adding your Google Analytics Property Tracking ID To iPaper

Find your Tracking ID:

  1. Sign in to your Analytics account.

  2. Click Admin.

  3. Select an account from the menu in the ACCOUNT column.

  4. Select a property from the menu in the PROPERTY column.

  5. Under PROPERTY, click Tracking Info > Tracking Code. Your tracking ID is displayed at the top of the page.

When configuring your iPaper account, you can leverage the power of setting inheritance to specify your Tracking Code once for your entire account.

You can also add it on a single flipbook and all flipbooks under a folder.

If you only have a single Tracking Code or, the easiest way to use it on your account is to specify the Tracking Code on the root of your account and let the code inherent down to all the flipbooks on your iPaper account.

  1. Right-click on your iPaper account name.

  2. Click Edit settings.

  3. Click the Integration tab.

  4. Select Google Analytics.

  5. Paste your Google Analytics Tracking Code.

And that’s it, visits to your publications will now send data to your Google Analytics account.

What are we tracking in iPaper?

When you enabled Google Analytics tracking, we'll send a host of visitor data to your Google Analytics account, including a long list of events.

See them here:

Note: Flipbook sessions and visits to specific pages in your Flipbooks will be tracked as normal session and page views on your Google Analytics Account, while the other actions will be tracked as Events.

Find the iPaper Events, in your Google Analytics report.

Your iPaper events will automatically appear in your account inside an 'iPaper Event' category once you've added your Google Analytics Tracking ID to iPaper.

For further information about using iPapers events in your Google Analytics reports. Please see the article about creating and using audiences with Google Analytics 4.
